Congress overview: themes and objectives

The program, under the broad theme of Explore, Experience, Educate, will offer participants an opportunity to learn, encounter, share and debate new ways of thinking, feeling and doing, and to explore new trends in research and practice in environmental education. The Congress objectives are:

Encourage the sharing of research, strategies, skills and practices between cultural groups and various communities that help to bridge the knowledge-commitment-action gap; Broaden and deepen environmental education networks by facilitating sharing within the environmental education community; Explore opportunities to influence public policy, especially education, social and environmental policy; and Explore and experience educational strategies for fostering sustainability in society.
